It’s no question whether or not I’m a fan of superfoods. Not only do I add them to my morning yogurt, matcha and more, but I also created a whole e-book dedicated to demystifying these powerful yet perhaps confusing ingredients. While superfoods might seem overwhelming, and we’ve all likely asked ourselves “what do I do with this” while holding a bag of superfood powder, fear not! I’ve found that any daily routine or recipe provides an opportunity to put these healthy additions to good use. And salad dressing is a great place to start.
Lately I’ve been loving Fittppl’s superfood and protein powders in smoothies, oatmeal and baked goods. Not only are they an Austin-based company, but they also use intentional, plant-based, high quality products that provide complete and balanced nutrition. And in this particular recipe, I found that their Green & Red Daily Superfood is the perfect, delicious way to amp up a simple savory dressing.
This specific blend contains “alkalizing cereal grasses, algae, leaves, and phytonutrient-packed fruits to promote detoxification, battle cell damaging free radicals, rejuvenate skin cells, and boost your immune system.” Sounds like a winner to me!
Likewise, tahini dressing is always my go-to for salads, grain bowls and more thanks to its creamy texture and nutty flavor. Check out my Seasonal Veggie & Quinoa Bowl with Herbed Tahini for more inspiration on how to put these dressings to use.
Simply combine the superfood powder and tahini with a little lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and spices, and you’re ready to make any meal more delicious and nutrient-dense. And whether or not you’re a superfoods super fan or not, I can guarantee that incorporating more of these formidable ingredients into your diet will make you feel…well…super .
