It's (most) everyone's favorite time of year for good reason. Yet I also find that summer quickly gets so booked up with social events and travels that we forget to prioritize our wellness routines.
Consider these simple but important daily habits to embrace this summer and feel your absolute best!
Rise & rest with the sun
With the sun rising earlier and setting later, I encourage you to refigure your sleep schedule accordingly. Our bodies THRIVE on rhythm, and our sleep is no exception.
Keeping a consistent sleeping & waking schedule regulates your circadian rhythm which is controlled by an area of your brain that responds to light.
Try sleeping with your blinds open to let the light wake you up and begin winding down and working on your evening routine as the sun sets.
Add more color to your plate
This isn't too tough with ALL of the incredible produce at our fingertips this time of year!
I always encourage my clients to count colors instead of calories, so this is your reminder to get out of your comfort zone and try some new fruits and veggies!
Plus, your gut needs a variety of plant foods to thrive - aim to get at least 30 different types a week to make your microbiome extra happy.

Get in your steps
Listen up - you do NOT need to do an excessive amount of intense exercise in order to be "healthy" or "fit".
Instead, I encourage you simply to move your body more! Choose to walk to work instead of taking the subway, ask a friend to get coffee and walk to catch up or simply move around your office throughout the day.
I've personally been prioritizing more walks lately, and I can really feel the difference in my body, mind and spirit!
Start your day with sunshine
Similar to the above habit of waking with the sun, I also encourage you to also soak in some sun in the morning.
Exposure to sunlight (ideally within the first 30 minutes to an hour of waking) has myriad health benefits.
Morning sun exposure is vital to hormone regulation, vitamin-D synthesis, sleep, immune function and more.
Try enjoying your coffee on your balcony this week!
Know when to slow down
Lastly, since summer always seems to get CRAZY with plans, gatherings and travels, I want to remind you to make sure you're taking adequate time to rest and recharge.
It's so easy to say yes to everything and then realize you've left no space and time in your day for yourself or your health.
Work to schedule your time more strategically, say NO when you need to and prioritize rest just as much as you do work.
Enjoy a book, take a nap, get some sun and take what YOU need!
Shoot me a message on Instagram and let know which of the above you're working to add into YOUR summer routine!
