No-Bake Lactation Energy Bites

recipes snacks sweets Mar 26, 2025

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently welcomed my first baby boy in early March! These first few weeks of newborn life have been equally magical and challenging, which is why I've been extra grateful to have prepped a few nourishing recipes ahead of time to keep myself fueled.

Having some healthy snacks and meals ready to go is an absolute game changer, and these No-Bake Lactation Energy Bites have been hitting the spot like no other. I whipped up a batch to have stocked in my freezer, and they've been devoured in no time.

Not only do they make the perfect, nutrient-dense snack to fuel me through my afternoons, mornings, or late nights, but they also happen to be filled with lactation-supporting ingredients (which can still be enjoyed by anyone NOT breastfeeding as well)!

Oats, brewer's yeast, flaxseed, and chia seeds are wonderfully nutritious ingredients that can help support milk supply, making these the ideal bites for all of the nursing mamas out there.

Together these provide omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, iron, B vitamins, phytoestrogens, selenium, and more that are all necessary for a healthy milk supply.

Overall, these energy balls are packed full of the healthy fats and protein needed to put a little pep in your step (which I'm personally needing these days).

Plus, you can apt them up with any extra mix-ins you love for some additional flavor. I added chocolate chips, but you could always throw in some dried fruit like cranberries or cherries, swap for white chocolate chips, you name it.

For my fellow new (or veteran) mamas out there, I hope these help you fuel your postpartum journey in the best way! Let me know if you whip up a batch to store in your own freezer :)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
  • 3 tbsp brewer's yeast
  • 1 cup runny nut butter of choice
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions

1. Add all of the ingredients besides chocolate chips to a large bowl. Mix together to incorporate completely.

2. Fold in chocolate chips.

3. Roll into about two-dozen balls, and store in an air-tight container in the fridge or freezer (for longer storage). Enjoy!
