Ingredients
- 1 cup raw hazelnuts
- ¼ cup lukewarm water
- ¼ cup cacao powder
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- pinch of salt
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread hazelnuts on a baking sheet, and bake for about 5 minutes, until slightly golden and fragrant.
2 Add hazelnuts to a food processor, and blend for 3-5 minutes, until a smooth butter has formed.
3 In a separate bowl, add water and cacao powder. Whisk together to dissolve.
4 Add cacao mixture, maple syrup and salt to the food processor. Blend until completely combined and smooth. Add additional water if you prefer a runnier texture.
5 Transfer to an air-tight container, and store in the pantry or fridge.
